You’ve Been Elfed Christmas Gift Idea
When you want to share festive joy with family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers, this You’ve Been Elfed Christmas Gift Idea is perfect for the task! Fill a box or basket with festive items or give it an Elf the movie twist. I’ll show you how!
What Does You’ve Been Elfed Mean?
You’ve Been Elfed is a fun holiday tradition where you secretly leave a box or basket of festive Christmas items on someoneโs doorstep or desk, spreading Christmas cheer. Traditionally, the recipient can then “elf” others to keep the joy going. However, it’s my opinion that the holidays are busy enough without giving our neighbors, co-workers, or friends one more thing to do so I like to “elf” without the expectation of recipients paying it forward.
Is This Gift Idea Primarily For Kids?
Although kids love to be elfed, elfing is not just for kids. Anyone can use a little extra Christmas cheer and that’s what elfing is all about!
If you know the recipients of your elf gift, you can tailor the items to their age or maturity level but many people would enjoy little festive toys and gifts no matter how old they are!
One year, we went around elfing random homes in our neighborhood. We chose to elf the homes that had decorated the outside of their houses for Christmas simply because we knew they celebrated Christmas. However, we didn’t know the occupants of the homes so they each got the same items in the buckets. We didn’t know if the recipients loved the items or not because we didn’t know them but our goal was to bring a little extra cheer and it brought us Christmas joy as well!
