When I asked my husband if we should gather supplies for the Toilet Paper Snowman Game, for our Christmas Eve party, he replied with, ‘please, no. ‘ I’m thinking it’s too much work for him. We’ll save that one for the teenagers! Then, my sister called and asked if I had any Christmas Game ideas. So, I dug into my archives and pulled this one out to revamp and beautify!

Who Is This Game Good For?

This Christmas Trivia Game will work for just about any Christmas party and any age. The trivia questions may be a bit challenging for younger children, but they can certainly try to participate and get in on the action. I have used this game for family Christmas parties, but it would also work well for work parties, youth groups, classrooms, and more!

Many of the trivia questions relate to Christmas Movies, and I’ve found that those who have watched Christmas movies typically do the best.

Handing trivia cards to your guests who guess correctly makes it easy to determine the winner!

Image of six pages with eight Christmas trivia cards on each page.

This game is so simple, but sure to bring a little excitement to your party. Even for the husbands who don’t want to wrap toilet paper around someone to build a snowman! Someone might actually learn a thing or two, too!

Game Prize Ideas

Don’t forget the prize! Be sure to display the prize so party guests know what they’re working for. I generally aim to have prizes that are worth at least $10, but you get to make the rules for your party!

  • A gift card to a local favorite is always a hit. Just be aware of Gift Card Scams. Thankfully, Target now adds sticker bar codes to their gift cards right at the register, and most people like to shop at Target since they have such a wide variety. Costco is also a safe bet. Any business that keeps its gift cards out of reach should be okay.
  • You could also create a Smarty Pants Basket and include things like Smart Water, Smarties Candy, and Fake Glasses.
  • Another fun thing to do is to create a basket full of items for game winners to choose from. If you’re planning multiple games, this is an easy solution. This basket could include a few gift cards to different places, festive things like candy or a Santa hat, or even a card game. You might also want to throw in a bit of cash, in the form of Christmas Dough, and see what gets chosen first.

It’s been my experience that party guests always choose the gift card or cash first. They are willing to play in order to win a gift card they can spend later!

Yes! You can ask the trivia questions provided in this article without purchasing the trivia cards. You will just need to find a way to keep score on how many trivia questions each person answered. You could go on the trust system or make a tally sheet for yourself. However, I’ve found it’s super simple to hand each trivia card to the person who answered first, correctly, and then have each player count their cards at the end of the game to determine the winner.
