Organize Your Closet In Three Easy Steps!
Is your closet out of control and you think you need a new house with bigger closets? Bigger closets probably aren’t your answer. Instead, it’s time to get relentless and organize your closet to work for you.
1. Take Everything Out Of Your Closet
I know what you’re thinking. That’s a LOT of work and not easy at all. Actually, it is easy, it is a lot of work but it’s much easier to be relentless when you’re starting with a clean slate. Once everything is out, give your closet a good clean.
2. Try Everything On
If it doesn’t fit right, feel right, or look right, it’s time to say goodbye. You might as well keep the clothes you wear all the time and ditch the ones that have been sitting there, for years. This will give you space to add items to your wardrobe that you actually like.

As you try everything on, put your ‘keepers’ back in the closet, on uniform hangers. I use these chrome hangers! They are so much better than plastic and they save space, too! For my husband’s clothes, I use wood hangers, for a crisp look.
Place ‘keepers’, in rainbow order, by shirt style. Tank tops together, short sleeves, long sleeves, and fitness (or whatever category you need). Start with whites then move to red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and end with browns, greys, and black. The reason I suggest you separate the kinds of tops is because if you put all red tops together, the tank tops and short sleeves will be buried behind the long-sleeved red tops and hard to see. Separating them gives you a clear view of what you have.
That’s it! You’re done organizing your hanging clothes and they will be so much easier to find and wear because they have room to breathe and are color-coded. There’s no need for a huge closet, a small closet works just fine when you keep only the clothes you like.
