Getting a gift for anyone can be a difficult task. This is especially true for young adults. Not quite old enough for the more practical, adult gifts; but too old for the gifts of their childhood. Here are a few ideas to make gift giving a little easier.
These gift ideas for young adults were picked by my very own college student, Justine!

Self care items are a hot commodity. Especially for young adults. It is a nice way to escape from the stresses of the world. Who wouldn’t want that? There are plenty of self care items to choose from, from cheap to expensive, big or large, etc. Some of the most popular include, sheet masks, scrubs (facial or body), jade rollers, bath bombs, foot peel mask, and much more. I included a link to some face masks, a great start to any self care gift.
Young adults are suckers for plants. Most of my friends have a least one or two (if not many more) plants lying around their living spaces. They are nice friends to have. Especially at a point in life when pets are hard to care for. Plants, as you probably know, is a very general term. Going with a small plant that can fit on any desk or side table is a good choice. Succulents are a very popular option. They’re small, easy to manage, and a cute way to liven up any space.
Coffee mugs are essential for a lot of young adults. They’re perfect for your drink of choice while studying for school, watching a movie, having a night in with friends and much more. Mugs also are a great way to showcase someones personality. There are so many different brands, colors, sizes, and designs. Choose one that really matches the personality of that young adult in your life. I have linked an insulated mug that is great for on the go too.
Practical items may not win the prize for most exciting, but they are much appreciated by broke young adults. Young adults are just starting their life in adulthood, and have to deal with the expenses that come with it. Providing some practical, everyday gifts for them is a great idea. Whether it’s hand soap, laundry detergent, a gift card to their favorite grocery store, cleaning supplies, etc. I’ve provided a link to my favorite hand soap, that’s a little expensive compared to the average. It is a great gift for a young adult who doesn’t want to spend their money on more expensive hand soap, but love to use it.
A reusable water bottle is a MUST have for any on the go young adult. For me, I like using a hydro flask. I see a lot of people on my college campus also using hydro flasks on a daily basis. They come in many different colors and sizes, including some limited edition options every now and then. Reusable water bottles are also customizable. I love putting stickers on mine. It really makes it your own.
This is definitely not an exhaustive list of anything and everything you can gift to a young adult. I only provided a few options that I think the majority of young adults would love to get. I know as a young adult myself, I would appreciate any one of these gifts.
Hope you enjoyed and happy gifting!
