Printable Birthday Gift Card Book
When my daughter asked for money for her Birthday, I had to find a way to give it in a practical but fun way. That’s what inspired me to create the Printable Birthday Gift Card Book!
My husband and I had fun collecting $10 gift cards from local spots that she likes, and for places that weren’t nearby, we added cash to the gift card holder. It turned into a fun, personalized way to gift money while still keeping it practical and exciting.

Why This Makes A Great Gift
Gift card books make excellent gifts for people who like practicality and the enjoyment of buying their own things. It’s a great way to give money and gift cards in a fun way. You can personalize the gift by choosing gift card holders you know the recipient will want. You can also adjust the gift to your budget by adjusting the number of gift card holders you use and the amount you place on each one.
Buying things that arenโt wanted isn’t just awkward – itโs a waste of money, time and resources … a gift card eliminates the chance of a disappointing present, and empowers your loved one to choose something they actually need.
Buy Me Once
You can even personalize the book by writing in the recipient’s name and signing who it’s from on the Happy Birthday letter!
How I’ve Used This Idea
The printable pages from this Birthday Gift Card Book can be used in many different ways and for any age! The cover and letter are specific for Birthdays, but the pages themselves can be used for any occasion.
Adult Nephew Gift
My adult nephew had a Birthday, and I know he’s working on remodeling his house, so we chose to use the following pages for his gift card book:
- When you need to order something quick, with a $10 Amazon gift card attached.
- When you want to take on a DIY project, with a $20 Home Depot gift card.
- When you’re hungry for pizza, with a $10 gift card to a pizza place that’s local for him.
- When you want to try your luck, with a $1 lottery ticket.
- When you need a few necessities, with a $10 Target gift card.
In this instance, I used just five pages along with the cover page and Birthday letter.
Adult Daughter Gift
When we gifted a gift card book to our daughter, we knew she wanted cash, so we chose to do a few $10 gift cards and placed cash on many of the pages so she could use the money any way she wanted to. She didn’t have to spend it on what the gift card holder said, but it was a fun way to present it!
Easter Baskets
Since my adult kids are less into treats and more on the go, I used sun hats upside down as Easter baskets and included three of the gift card holders in each one, along with a few treats. I chose to do this instead of buying basket fillers that would end up in the trash or the next garage sale and it worked well!

How To Use The Birthday Gift Card Book
- Print the Birthday Book Of When on card stock. Print just the pages you like best.
- Cut the gift card pages. Each page should be 5″ x 7″ when printed at 100%.
- Buy and attach gift cards to the pages you’ve selected for your recipient.
- Bind the pages using your favorite method (I used the Discbound system). You could also hole punch the edge and tie twine through it.
Binding Ideas
I have and like to use the Discbound system, but there are a lot of different ways you can use these pages. You could bind the pages at the top or left-hand side to create a book, or you could place the pages in a box to wrap and gift.
- Discbound System – I have this ARC Paper Punch and have used these Binding Discs for many projects, but I found this Small Discbound Hole Punch With Discs at a great price that would work, too!
- Hole Punch – Punch two holes on the top or side and thread twine, jute, or yarn through and tie a bow.
- In A Box – Instead of binding the book, simply place the pages in a box, wrap it, and gift it!
- Photo Album – Use a 5×7 photo album and place the pages in the sleeves.
- Binder Rings – Punch one hole in the upper left corner or three holes down the left side and use binder rings to bind the book.
- In A Basket – For Easter, I placed three different gift card holders in each of my kids’ Easter baskets, along with treats!
